In this module, we will explore how STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) can help us take care of the environment and make our planet healthier. You will engage in hands-on activities that combine creativity, technology, and problem-solving to build projects that demonstrate eco-friendly solutions in action. Each activity is designed for you to experiment, test ideas, and see the real impact of your efforts, helping you understand how science and technology can contribute to sustainability.

By exploring different approaches and applying what you learn in your daily life, you can observe results, adjust your ideas, and develop practical skills. This journey of discovery and experimentation will help you better understand the world around you and see how small actions can create a big impact on the planet!

BNCC SKILLS DEVELOPED THROUGHOUT THE MODULE

(EF01CI01) Compare characteristics of different materials present in everyday objects, discussing their origin, the ways in which they are discarded and how they can be used more consciously.

(EF05CI05) Build collective proposals for more conscious consumption and create technological solutions for the proper disposal and reuse or recycling of materials/consumed at school and/or in daily life.

(EF06CI02) Identify evidence of chemical transformations from the result of mixing materials that give rise to different products from those that were mixed.

(EF06CI05) Explain the basic organization of cells and their role as the structural and functional unit of living beings.

(EM13CNT301) Construct questions, develop hypotheses, predictions and estimates, use measuring instruments and represent and interpret explanatory models, data and/or experimental results in order to construct, evaluate and justify conclusions when dealing with problem situations from a scientific perspective.

(EF05CI04) Identify the main uses of water and other materials in everyday activities in order to discuss and propose sustainable ways of using these resources.

(EM13CNT307) Analyze the properties of materials to determine the suitability of their use in different applications (industrial, daily, architectural or technological) and/or propose safe and sustainable solutions considering their local and everyday context.

(EM13CNT308) Investigate and analyze the operation of electrical and/or electronic equipment and automation systems in order to understand contemporary technologies and assess their social, cultural and environmental impacts.
